The Rancho Santa Fe Library, along with the other 32 branches of the San Diego County Library, offers a variety of health information resources. We have books covering a wide range of medical topics on the shelves, and we can order books from other branches as well as from libraries throughout California.

Health information resources are also available on the SDCL website (http://www.sdcl.org/), Select Research and Homework from the Library Resources menu on left side of the home page then choose Articles and Research, and finally Health and Medicine. This page provides links to a number of health-related databases, including the National Library of Medicine’s MedlinePlus.

You can find information about diet and nutrition, cancer care, medications, physician directories, and many other topics. Much of this information is also available in Spanish.

For more information, go to the County of San Diego’s home page (http://sdpublic.sdcounty.ca.gov/) Across the top is a menu bar with a button labeled Healthy Kids and Families. This provides a drop-down menu with links to various services for children, seniors, and veterans. There are also links to information about drug and alcohol treatment and mental health services.
